I have about 5 years of teaching experience and I am a full time piano teacher. I have taught students that range from 5 to 61 years old and I teach in students house and also in my own home studio.
I am a patient and motivating piano teacher that believes in making lessons engaging. Hence when teaching young students,I try to makes classes lively where we not only play pieces and do theory, but we also use props, stories, stickers and colors to learn.
This helps my young students remain interested while boosting their skills and knowledge at the same time.
For students that are older, we focus on the exam pieces as there is a need to excel in the piano exams.
But In lessons we also try to play songs of different repertoires, that are out of the exam pieces and my students tend to find this variety interesting and this helps increase their exposure and skills as well. So in general, my students look forward to having lessons and tend to stay with me for the Long term

Pamela's Piano Learning Journey
Pamela started learning music at age 10 years old, which has helped her develop strong musicianship skills and the ability to play by ear. She attained ABRSM Grade 8 Piano over the years and her passion for teaching music led her to a piano teaching career.
As a piano teacher, she creates her own teaching materials and notes according to each student's pace and preference. Lessons will be tailored to suit each student's learning style and needs. She is very passionate about inspiring and motivating young students through well-chosen music pieces and creative teaching.
Her teaching method includes teaching students to read notes, for them to be able to read and play music on their own, as well as for students to learn a sense of rhythm. She loves teaching in a way that works best with the student, and always ensures a positive learning environment by setting short term and long term goals with the student and regularly completing music pieces of the student's preference.
I am currently studying at SIM-UOL for my Degree in Economics and Finance. I teach piano part time. I have been playing piano since I was 7 years old.
I started teaching as a part time job when I was in Polytechnic (in 2014) and have been continuing to do so all from beginner levels up till Grade 3 but all of my students play for pleasure with no exams. I teach at home as well as go over to students homes for classes. I find pleasure in teaching as much as playing myself.
I like to set goals (chart) for students at the beginning of each month and review with the student at the end of every month to see how far we have progressed and small awards.
I believe in also taking interest in my students interest in different kinds of songs that they may want to learn and modify it to their level so they can learn other than just songs I choose for them at their individual levels. I also modify hanon exercises for my students to practice along with scales.

Music is my passion and it is a joy when I am able to nurture the appreciation and sensitivity of music in others
I began my journey in music as an adult beginner and obtained ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction in just one and a half years of committed learning and practice
Having had this experience, I have specialized myself into intelligently and effectively teaching youths and adult beginners to be able to progress at an accelerated pace
In my teaching, i take emphasis in simplifying musical concepts and breaking down the complexities of piano technique into bite size bits, which serve as enablers to facilitate the creation of a positive learning cycle through the students development of competencies and confidence
With the employment of an effective practice routine that i have developed over the years, many of my beginner students have been able to start playing the pieces they like after just a few lessons
Teaching music through pieces that my students are enthusiastic about is quintessential to my approach as I have found this to be an effective way to maintain their interest that has often been spoiled by rigid and strict methodologies
Through this, the lessons remain student-centric and always has a higher chance of being a good and lasting match

This engages his students to view piano as a hobby much rather a chore; he believes that students should first consolidate a solid basis and start to love piano first.

Ms. Crystal studies piano since an early age and hence has been involved in the music area for more than 16 years.
Her approach to teaching piano has all along been focusing on the experience as this has not just increased her passion for music, but also reflected well in her exam grades.
For her, it is important to create an environment where the student feels an interest and passion for learning piano. Such a foundation will drive the students to pursue and practice piano in his/her own free time.
That is the key to learning piano. Building a strong foundation and ear to music will allow the student to score well during exams as well (based on her own experience).
Ms Sihan is a year 2 student studying in Singapore Polytechnic. She has played the piano since she was 9 years old and have always been very passionate about music. She enjoys teaching and interacting with both kids and adults.
I has been teaching for a year and had taught 6 children and 2 adults.
For beginners, she usually focus more on their note reading and rhythmic development. She believes these two are very important foundation when it comes to learn an instrument, therefore she will emphasize a lot on the two when I teach.
She also believe that being a fun and creative teacher will inspire her students in learning the piano, and hopefully they will grow a fondness towards classical music just like how she did.
She is good at interacting with children & she enjoys teaching them as well.
